Peter J. Newland and RadioX is a band built on the original music of Peter J. Newland.

Moving with power, fluidly in and between the blues, rock, country and R&B idioms, Peter J. Newland and RadioX are quickly growing their fanbase.

Peter and the band masterfully interpret and adapt works by many favorite artists including: Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Muddy Waters, James Brown, Paul Young, The Allman Brothers, Van Morrison and the Rolling Stones to name a few.

Peter J. Newland

Peter J. Newland began writing at just sixteen years old and wrote/co-wrote all the songs for the band FAT's (RCA and Atlantic Records) extensive repertoire . His multi-decade musical journey has taken him to America's prestigious music meccas: New York, Nashville, New Orleans, Memphis, and Los Angeles. Peter's songs have been produced by Felix Pappalardi (Cream, Mountain), Adrian Barber (Aerosmith, The Allman Brothers), Mick Ronson (David Bowie, Bob Dylan), and his songs have been recorded by Hank Williams Jr., Alan Jackson, Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd, Colin Raye to name a few.

Mark Pappas

Mark Pappas is a consummate guitar-slinger playing with the legendery Jack Veronesi and Friends, moving through The Top Hat Band featuring Earl Davis and more recently playing with FAT, The Peter Newland Duo, and RadioX. Shifting effortlessly through many styles from jazz to blues to rock and country, Mark has studied harmony theory with Dave Santoro at The Hartford Conservatory and jazz guitar with Robert Ferrier at Holyoke Community College.

Tim Smith

Tim Smith graduated college with a music degree but attributes much of his education to the three years spent alongside the great Motown bass player and “Funk Brother” Bob Babbitt. He and Babbitt accompanied icon Brenda Lee on a two-year tour, two independent albums, and many other projects. Tim played on the multi-platinum, Grammy nominated, Dove award-winning debut album from crossover super-group, Jars of Clay. Also, he was the drummer in the legendary band Poco for nearly ten years (for countless other rock, country, folk, jazz and R&B artists too). Visit Tim online at timsmithdrums.com.

Ralph Whittle

Ralph Whittle, a graduate of American International College, performed for five years with vocalist Carol Hahn and can be currently seen and heard with popular Springfield-area jazz singer, Ethel Lee. Ralph has played with contemporary jazz mainstays Peter Erskine, Rufus Reed, Marvin Stamm and others. He is currently also on the faculty of Holyoke Community College and plays extensively. Though mostly known for his expertise in jazz, Ralph is accomplished across all musical styles.

John O'Boyle

John O'Boyle has performed and/or recorded with Michael Sweet (Boston, Stryper), Kenny Aronoff (John Mellencamp, John Fogerty, Smashing Pumpkins), Peter Tork (The Monkees), and Alexander Jenko (My Big Fat Greek Wedding). John has also played with regional favorites: The Tom Ingram Band, Barry Kingston and the Screaming Souls, Maxxtone, Livio Gravini, The John Cantalini Band, Katelyn Richards, Changes in Latitudes, Mark Nomad, Frank Manzi, and many others.
